The Keppel Sands Community Advancement League (KSCAL) was formed in the mid 1950's  the organization evolved from the Keppel Sands Progress Association that was formed in 1940.  In 1996 KSCAL was incorporated as non for profit community organization.

A large part of KSCAL work was in relation to the protection of beach front that was seriously eroded by a major Tropical Cyclone in the mid 1950's that threatened the properties then built on the beachfront. The organization then went to develop the Parks you see today.

KSCAL has raised tens of thousands of dollars through its community fund raising activities and assisted in major works such as the construction of the Northern end Beach Groyne, the handicapped access ramp to the beach. 

 

KASCAL initiated the famous Krabtastic Festival. Krabtastic was a very successful Community organised Crab themed Fun Day Festival of food, arts, sports and entertainment.
